Plenty : Eating Locally on a 100 Mile Diet
Plenty: Eating Locally on the 100-Mile Diet
Price: $11.04
What I Say:
This is a very interesting and inspiring book. It tells the story of a couple that chose to eat only food grown within 100 miles of them for a year. It chronicles not only their culinary journey, but also the impact that it has on their relationship. It also talks a lot about the pros for eating locally grown food, and the impact importation has on the world.
What Others Say:
I read Plenty the year it was first published. The copy I bought this time is for a member of my family. This book was so great, I read it to my husband aloud in the car on a trip we took. It is chock full of information we all should know about the food we eat and at the same time, never boring. It is one of the most reader-friendly books I've read in my entire life and it actually "sucked me in".

Double Spoon Rest
Double Spoon Rest
Price: $14.10
What I Say:
Keeping what spoons are being used for what item while I'm cooking is an absolute nightmare. This product is great. It goes well in any kitchen, it olds two spoons without making a giant mess of your countertop, and it's stable and easy. A great little item for any kitchen!
What Others Say:
love this spoon rest. It keeps my stove/counter top clean, it holds most utensils upright keeping them with easy reach, it catches drips which no longer get on the handle, it's easy to clean, and it is quite nice looking. I hate when kitchen gadgets clutter the kitchen, but this really looks nice and somehow even dresses up the kitchen. My husband thought it was much more expensive than it is.

Firefly Complete Series
Firefly - The Complete Series
Price: $22.39
What I Say:
This is honestly one of the best television series ever created. It's smart, funny, engaging, action packed, and creates a fascinating universe. It's one of the greatest shames that this series was canceled before it was completed. It's gained a huge cult following for good reason.
What Others Say:
I'd never heard of this show until I noticed the customer reviews while browsing through Amazon.com ... The response was so overwhelming that I HAD to check it out. It is without a doubt the best series I've ever seen. I was completely absorbed by the stories and characters, and watched the entire series in one sitting - I just couldn't stop.

JayBird Bluetooth Wire Headphones
JayBird Bluetooth Wireless Headphones
Price: $89.00
What I Say:
How handy is it to not have to deal with wires? These are secure, comfortable, and have excellent sound quality. They are convenient and pretty reasonably price for higher end headphones.
What Others Say:
Great headphones, the bluetooth works really well. I bought some bluetooth headphones a couple of years ago and they dropped out all the time, that put me off bluetooth headphones for a long time. Thankfully all the reviews about these headphones were correct, they work flawlessly, I hardly every get any break ups with the audio and the sound quality is excellent.

Microwave Egg Poacher
Nordic Ware Microwave Egg Cooker
Price: $9.89
What I Say:
It's not easy cooking perfect eggs, but this microwave egg poacher makes it simple and easy. This holds four eggs and you can get uniform hard or soft boiled eggs easily. It's microwave and dishwasher safe, so clean up is simple. A great addition to any kitchen.
What Others Say:
I've used many egg cookers and this is the best! It works so easy - fill with water, add eggs, and microwave for 8 minutes. The eggs come out perfect every time. Its very compact and easy to store.

Makita Drill-Driver
Makita 18-Volt Compact Lithium-Ion Cordless 1/2-Inch Driver-Drill Kit
Price: $219.99
What I Say:
I don't normally post the more expensive items, but this one is definitely worth mentioning. If you're a handy person at all, if you work in a trade that requires tools, or if you wish to do things around your own house, this is definitely something you should own. This drill is lightweight and small. It fits in anyones hands, it isn't heavy so you don't have to spend too much of your strength holding it. It is powerful and you can get it into tiny spaces. It's battery life is excellent. As a former carpenter, I've used many other tools. This is the only one I've bought.
What Others Say:
The BDF452HW is super light, easy to handle and has good power. The batteries are physically small, but still pack 18 volts. The L/I batteries have a very flat run-time curve...they stay full power until right at the end of the charge. They recharge in 15 minutes (for real). Makita seems to have capitalized on the advantages of new battery technology and combined it with a well built, smooth, advanced tool.

Leonidas Belgian Chocolate
Leonidas Belgian Chocolates
Price: $36.00
What I Say:
Since Mothers Day is almost here and this is really the last day to order things with expedited shipping we figured it would be a good idea to throw you a last minute panicky idea. This assortment of chocolates is enormously, weighing 1lb. It's great for sharing or for hoarding, your choice. Belgian chocolate is exquisite and has no equal. This is a something for everyone assortment.
What Others Say:
Outstanding melt in your mouth chocolate. The dark chocolate is not bitter like many chocolatiers - it has the perfect blend of taste for any chocoholic. I've had many different types of chocolate from Belgium and can guarantee - Leonidas is the "Mercedes-Benz" of chocolatiers. The general assortment is an outstanding sampling of ivory, milk and dark chocolate. If you love dark chocolate then go for the dark chocolate assortment. You will not regret it.

Ninja Stealth Television Remote
Ninja Remote Stealth Television Gadget
Price: $9.95
What I Say:
I almost feel guilty about advocating this device, but not only is it great for pranks, it's also great to have a spare TV remote for when you can't find yours. If you're at the gym and the remote has gone missing, as ours always does, it's nice to have an extra one!
What Others Say:
Great for pranks. I've had so much fun with this. The remote has worked on 19/21 tvs, it's so much fun.

In-Drawer Bamboo Knife Block
In-Drawer Bamboo Knife Block
Price: $20.00
What I Say:
Honestly, we don't all have sprawling kitchens. Counter space can sometimes be incredibly hard to come by in an average kitchen. This knife block is great because it keeps your knives organized and out of the way. It also adds an extra element for child safety if you are worried about your kids getting into knives as drawers are much easier to secure.
A great find for the cook who has everything.
What Others Say:
Such a beautiful product! You'd think it would cost twice as much. I ordered two for my drawer and it fit my extensive knife collection, from my really long chef knife to my steak knifes. Very happy with this purchase.

Fizzy Birthday Cupcake Bath Bomb
Fizzy Baker Birthday Cupcake Bath Bomb
Price: $9.99
What I Say:
This is a really easy quick birthday fix for most women (and probably a few men). If you need an easy happy birthday that doesn't involve getting a real cake, this is a good solution to show you care and to also encourage someone to indulge a little and enjoy their birthday with relaxation. It's also very very inexpensive so it works well as a good random gift for those you don't know so well.
What Others Say:
I sent this to my friend for her birthday. I didn't have much money and I had no clue what to get her. I am so glad I found this, she was thrilled to get it. She said it was almost to pretty to use she was just gonna set it on her bathroom windowsill for awhile. And I spent under $15 including shipping while making my friends day!

Aveeno SPF 30 Moisturizer
Aveeno Daily Moisturizer SPF 30, 2.5-Ounces
Price: $14.96
What I Say:
I'm the worst at forgetting to wear sunblock. In the morning, though, I do tend to remember to moisturize before my day, so why not cut corners and do both at once? This moisturizer is handy and light. It's a good unisex product and can really help protect your skin against sun damage and dryness throughout the day.
What Others Say:
I am very happy to have discovered Aveeno makes an SPF-30 face cream in their Ultra-Calming line. It is not heavy at all - unusual for a high SPF and absorbs into the skin well. Doesn't cause breakouts or make my skin greasy (I have combination skin).

The Glass Castle
The Glass Castle: A Memoir
Price: $9.72
What I Say:
This book is a stunning piece of writing. It tells the story of a young woman that grew up mostly homeless with the most concerning parents in the world. Instead of being a tragic tale, its brilliant writing has a great mix of comedy and interest. It's hard to put it down and well worth the time to read it. It's technically a memoir but it reads like a great work of fiction.
What Others Say:
First, "The Glass Castle" is a real page turner - - I couldn't put it down and finished it in about four hours - - a record for me!
It's probably the most thoughtful and sensitive memoir I can ever remember reading - - told with such grace, kindness and fabulous sense of humor.
It's probably the best account ever written of a dysfunctional family -- and it must have taken Walls so much courage to put pen to paper and recount the details of her rather bizarre childhood - - which although it's like none other and is so dramatic - - any reader will relate to it.

Sony iPhone Clock Radio
Sony Clock Radio for iPod (Black)
Price: $34.37
What I Say:
It's hard to give up things that you're used to. For many, a clock beside the bed is par for the course. This version though, lets you also keep and charge your iPhone or iPod right by the bed, while giving you a nice big clock to check throughout the night. You can also use it as a clock radio so you can be woken up by your favorite music instead of random radio. It also has a battery that holds power in case you have an outage while you sleep.
What Others Say:
Love it, and it is even better than the description makes it sound. I love that I can set the volume for the alarm itself so that I can listen to music while I fall asleep and not have to worry about it being too low in the morning to wake me up. I also love that I can turn the backlight off at night.

Silicone Balloon Whisk
Le Creuset Silicone Balloon Whisk
Price : $24.95
What I Say:
The beauty of this whisk is that, not only will it work wonders for all your whipping needs, but it's quiet, and it won't scratch up your metal mixing bowls. Silicone really is one of the most wonderful additions to a complete kitchen. This particular whisk also comes in several colors so it's not hard to match it to anyones chosen decor or favorite color. It may be a bit more expensive than some other whisks, but it will certainly last a long time, remain comfy in your hand, and be a joy to use.
What Others Say:
This whisk is wonderful. Nicely shaped, soft silicone handle fits perfectly in your hand. The silicone whisk is durable, the head is well made and does not crush when whipping as some of the other silicone whisks I've tried have. The silicone is molded into the handle, so you don't need to worry about food getting inside the handle or the silicone peeling off. Definately a must have for any chef from beginner to advanced!

Magnet Balls Executive Toy
Magnet Balls Jumbo Edition - Bigger. Better. Stronger. 216pc 6mm Jumbo Magnets in Collector's Tin
Price: $19.95
What I Say:
I'm a sucker for executive toys. I love fiddling with things when my hands aren't busy and these are great. You can turn them in to pyramids, necklaces, throw them at metallic things. It's a great thing to play with or a really easy gift when you have no idea what to get someone.
What Others Say:
I love Magnet Balls and have a few sets of the original size, as well as some of the colored versions (black and gold). I was very excited to see that a jumbo version was being released. After a few days of playing with them, I have to say that I am not disappointed! This larger set allows me to create more shapes and seems stronger than the smaller sized versions.

Burts Bees Lip Balm
Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm Tube - .15 Ounce sticks
Price : $4.99
What I Say :
This is a winter must have. It tastes yummy, it feels yummy, and it smells fantastic. This wonderfully natural lip balm is a good staple for anyone to have, or to give.
What Others Say:
I have used these for 6 years now. I first used these when I was taking a medication which temporarily made my lips very dry and these very quickly alleviated my problem. Now, I no longer need to use these everyday but I still do because they prevent any cracking or chapping of my lips.

World War Z by Max Brooks
World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War
Price : $6.99
What I Say:
This is honestly one of the most compelling books I have read this year. It is written as an oral history of the world after the turning point. It recounts many stories of what happened during the Zombie War, and it does so in a way that keeps you turning page after page as fast as you can. If the world were to be taken over by zombies, I believe that it is likely it'll happen the way Max Brooks suggests.
What Others Say:
The fascinating book could have been easily expanded over 1000 pages or a series, but efficiently covers the rumors of infection, the eventual spread across the globe, and the sacrifices of surviving the battle against the growing horde. The entire dynamic of the zombie existence, the merits of extreme cold or hazards of the ocean, is superb. The storyline truly captures a struggling spirit against a mindless and unconventional foe.

USB Car Charger
2-Port USB Car Charger Adapter for MP3, Cell Phone
Price : $3.17
What I Say:
This handy device works to charge all USB powered devices. This is great for road trips or just to have on hand in case you find yourself with a flailing device that needs some juice... and you can't beat the price!
What Others Say:
We end up having a lot of gadgets in our vehicles that need to be charged/powered. This charger definitely helps when you need more ports. I ordered two since they were a good price. I've been using a few weeks and it consistently works - can't ask for more!

Sil-Pat Non Stick Baking Sheet
Price - $15.98
What I Say:
Of all the items that I have in my kitchen, this is probably in my top three favorites. It's smart and simple to use. Nothing sticks to this puppy. I use it for baking fish, bread, cookies, potatoes, and anything else that will fit on a regular cookie sheet. It's economical in that it is completely reusable again and again, and much better for the environment than using disposable liners.
What Others Say:
As a professional chef in a very busy hotel, I find myself using this product more often than reaching for a can of PAM - if not for the solitary reason that it lasts and lasts through hundreds of cycles in and out of convection and conventional ovens - and never needs more than a wipe with a damp cloth! At home this ease of cleaning as well as its non-failing performance makes this and easy product to grant a full five stars!
